In
the attempt to prove metaphor ineffective, a common trope will be
actualized in the most literal sense. A daily ritual will be created
and followed in order to condition my senses. Each morning for a
year the training will be performed: a loaded gun will be placed
to my head and rose oil placed to my nose. The effect, whether literal
or allegorical, will be to associate the closeness of death with
the smell of roses. Hence, to “stop and smell the roses” will
force me to appreciate life. |
